The thought of exercise may not appeal to you but trust me, when you plug your headphones in at the gym and start listening to a few of your favorite songs whilst doing a high intensity workout you’ll find the stress pours off you much faster than the sweat.

Hobbies
When you’re feeling stressed it is all too easy to forget that once upon a time you were someone with serious interests and very enjoyable hobbies. For many this is something simple like socializing with friends once a week, for others it is more niche like pottery or reading. The truth is it doesn’t matter what you’re hobby is, so long as you enjoy it it can have a very positive effect on your stress levels and work as one of the great stress relief activities!
One of the great things about returning to a favorite hobby is that you’ll slowly feel a sense of normality coming back into your life and this is hugely powerful in reducing your stress levels.
Socializing
Now I know I just referenced socializing as a hobby BUT it is massively important to reducing your stress. All that time you’re spending on your own because you’re too stressed and don’t feel as though you’ll be good company is time your dwelling on your problems and although easier said than done, this is something you need to stop and in order to stop it you need to get out there and be with people who are enjoying their lives.
When you spend time with people who are constantly happy you’ll find your own mood improves and will also find that seeing these kinds of people will slowly become one of your favorite stress relief activities…

In many cases people blame their stress on work colleagues, their boss, their husband and even their children. Whilst I have no doubt that a lot of the time there will be people contributing towards your level of stress you still need to take responsibility for yourself and the part you’ve played in feeling stressed in order to overcome stress completely.
If you have been involved with people who have made you stressed then take a step back from them whenever possible! It is incredibly simple really – cut out the root cause and you’ll be a lot better off.
Once you’ve mastered these first two steps you should be well on your way to feeling much better so lastly you should put aside sometime for you every day, every week and maybe something extra special every month. We, as humans sometimes get to absorbed in the unimportant things in life like work and forget that we need a break from everything every now and again.
To overcome stress I recommend you find a few minutes every day, a few hours every week and a day every month were you just focus on you and do things that you enjoy and fulfill your own satisfactions. This may sound easier said than done but you have to find a way to do it because your health is at risk!
Take this on board and go out there and overcome stress once and for all!
Stress And Depression
Stress and depression are two of the most devastating forms of illness one can endure. They’ll kill your confidence, motivation and self-esteem in the blink of an eye and once you’re in that place it is incredibly difficult to relieve yourself of stress and depression and get back to a normal way of living.
Because of the world we now live in both stress and depression are becoming more and more common a daily basis either individually or combined. It is no surprise that the two come hand in hand as the negative mindset you’re in once your suffering with these conditions mounts the pressure on not only the brain but the body too.

Do Something Positive
When you’re suffering from stress and depression it is very easy to pick up bad habits and ultimately do nothing with your time apart from sitting there feeling sorry for yourself. Whilst everyone is entitled to a bit of “down time” it is not in your best interests to be feeling like this for any longer than you absolutely have to and therefore the first port of call is to do something POSITIVE.
I find exercise to be a great reliever of stress and depression as not only does it make you feel good there is a science element to it as well. The body reacts very positively to a good workout and as you may well know, a healthy body leads to a healthier mind.
If you don’t feel like exercise then there are probably lots of different activities you can do instead. Just pick something that you enjoy and go for it! Don’t sit back and wait for things to get worse, take action today and start making that all important move in the right direction…
Talk, Talk and Talk
Now I only have two tips for you but trust me, if you combine these two methods of releasing stress and depression you will feel that the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders!
Stress and depression tend to get much worse if you don’t get some of your feelings off your chest and the only way to do this is to talk things over with a close friend or family member. You’ll find that by simply exploring what is going on inside your head a little bit you’ll feel the world of good and will no doubt take home some great advice too!
